Inauguration of the Performance Car – Section Unveiling the Beasts
The Gedee Car Museum, a landmark institution that celebrates the love for vintage cars and India’s automotive heritage, reached yet another milestone with the grand inauguration of its Performance Car Section — a spectacular addition that brings together speed, style, and legacy under one roof.
The new section was inaugurated on Friday, 17th October 2025, at 4:00 p.m., in the presence of dignitaries, automobile enthusiasts, and members of the press. The event marked a proud moment for Coimbatore — a city known for its deep-rooted passion for motorsport and its contributions to India’s racing legacy.
A Journey of Passion and Innovation
Since its inception in April 2015, the Gedee Car Museum has served as a bridge between generations, preserving the legacy of Indian and international automobiles. From showcasing some of the earliest cars ever rolled on the roads to celebrating the ingenuity of India’s post-independence automobile industry, the museum continues to evolve, inspiring curiosity and admiration among visitors of all ages.
The newly inaugurated Performance Car Section stands as a testament to that spirit of evolution — capturing the essence of speed, performance, and engineering brilliance that defines the world’s most powerful machines.

The new exhibit features an exclusive lineup of sports, luxury, and supercars — meticulously displayed under dazzling illumination and precision lighting to create an immersive experience for visitors.
From the roaring Lamborghini and sleek Ferrari 599 GTB, to the eye-catching elegance of Rolls Royce Spectre, every car on display embodies a story of craftsmanship and performance. The section also features legends such as McLaren, Maserati Ghibli, Aston Martin Vantage, and Ford GT40 — the first hand-built race car in India by the legendary racer Mr. Karivaradhan.
Celebrating Coimbatore’s Motorsport Legacy
The exhibit goes beyond aesthetics — it’s a tribute to Coimbatore’s enduring relationship with motorsport. The city, often referred to as the Motorsport Capital of India, has been home to pioneers who have shaped the country’s racing scene.
A special segment in the section showcases race cars built and raced in Coimbatore — including LGB Rolon, MRF 1600, and MRF 2000, alongside homegrown racing innovations and contributions to auto components, go-karting, race tracks, and motor teams that have put the city on the national map.

We’ve recreated an authentic Formula 1-style pit stop setup, complete with electric screw drives, tyres, and go-karts. Here, visitors — both children and adults — can form a team of four and compete to change tyres just like a real racing pit crew!
Each team’s performance is timed, allowing participants to experience the thrill, coordination, and precision that define world-class motorsport.
